Kerguelen 
is built of pink granite and is an old
Breton farmhouse dating from the late 1800's.
The front door leads directly into a 
huge tiled open-plan kitchen/dining-area with the
gently-curving original wooden staircase leading up to the first floor directly
opposite the front door. The kitchen is well-equipped with gas cooker, microwave,
dishwasher, cafetière, big fridge/freezer and matching cutlery and crockery. It has a large table
and benches seating up to 14 in front of the window. Off the kitchen are the utility
room (toilet, hand-basin, washing machine, ironing facilities and coat pegs) and the lounge. The lounge
is spacious, open-beamed and dominated by the huge original fireplace with oak mantlepiece and wood
burning stove.
On the first floor there is a shower room with shower, wash basin and WC and 3 bedrooms one with 2 sets of bunk-beds, one
with a double bed and a single and one with just a double bed.We have kept the original
wooden floors and oak-panelled walls on the first floor but all bedrooms have rugs. In the attic are
2 further bedrooms, a separate toilet and a bathroom with a small bath and wash basin.
The attic bedrooms have beamed ceilings and are carpeted - one has a double bed and cot, the other has 3 single beds
and a toy corner. All bedrooms have new beds and mattresses and are attractively furnished with matching bed covers and curtains and the 2 huge first-floor bedrooms have traditional French furniture.
The house is fully CENTRALLY HEATED and is
ideal for Christmas and New Year breaks. Book early though! For availability

Situated 2 minutes drive from the unspoilt sandy beach, Plougasnou is a
tranquil little market village, 40 minutes from Roscoff. The ancient church of
St Pierre dominates the tree-lined village square in which a popular market is
held every Tuesday morning. 
This area of Brittany is relatively undiscovered as
yet and has a beautiful rugged coastline with lots of hidden sandy coves.
The property, Kerguelen, is an old Breton farmhouse built of pink granite, just on the other side of the village to Kerdalidec and surrounded by fields of maize and artichokes, yet only 15 minutes walk from the village centre where you will find a boulangerie, cafes, bars and restaurants.
Also in the village are a tourist information centre, medical centre, pharmacy, post office, bank, bookshop and giftshop.
We offer an ideal centre not only for family beach holidays but also for walking holidays, as we are within 30 minutes walk of the beautiful coastal path. We also offer maps and details of local walks. The nearest beach to Kerguelen is Primel-Tregastel which is wide and sandy. It is a 2 minute drive or a 30 minute walk downhill along pretty country paths - unfortunately its uphill on the way back!
During July and August a musical concert takes place every Tuesday evening in
the village square, 
featuring musicians from around the world. There are also
numerous classical concerts which take place inside the church. Also, in
Morlaix, a highly coulourful free Arts festival takes place in July and August which consists of theatrical events around the
streets of Morlaix.
For those of a sporty nature we can arrange horse-riding, sea-fishing, diving, tennis and if you wish to bring your boat we can arrange anchorage. For evening entertainment there are games and puzzles, also well-stocked book shelves.
For children there is a play area with swings and a sand-pit in the huge garden and toys, books and games are provided.
Stairgates,highchairs and cots are available. We also have other baby equipment which can be borrowed.
Garden furniture, outdoor games and barbeque are available. We live on the other side of the village in Kerdalidec.
We offer a collection service from Roscoff (max 4 people) for a small fee and can arrange cheap car hire if required.
Bed linen (not towels) is available at £5(8 euros) per person per change of linen.
